The Turkish Constructional Steelwork Association (TUCSA) is organising the Earthquake Resistant Structuring Summit on 30 September - 1 October 2024 in order to share the lessons learned from the studies in the earthquake zone and to raise awareness about steel structures. The summit will be held under the auspices of the Ministry of Environment and Urbanisation, in cooperation with OSTİM Technical University, OSTİM OSB and Turkish Steel Producers Association (TÇÜD) at OSTİM Technical University campus in Ankara.
On the first day of the summit, the theme of "Earthquake Resistant Structuring" will be discussed and participants will be informed about safe construction strategies and the advantages of steel structures in areas with high earthquake risk. The second day will focus on "Seismic Isolators and Dampers". These technologies are used to increase the resistance of buildings against earthquake effects and are among the innovative solutions that need to become widespread in Turkey.
Earthquake Resistant Construction Summit addresses a wide range of participants such as building sector professionals, public institutions and organisations, universities, industrialists, building earthquake designers, researchers, investors and users. The summit also offers an important platform for companies that want to introduce their innovative products and services related to earthquake resistance.
